Introducing the Lady Flower: Empowering Women to Feel Their Best

Our uniqueness as women is what makes us beautiful, and our unique attributes aren’t limited to what’s on the outside. As the years tick by, and life milestones are met, we as women will begin to notice changes in our overall health – and more specifically, our vaginal health. Some may experience stress incontinence, poor blood circulation, weak pelvic floor muscles, recurrent UTI’s, vaginal laxity. . . the list truly does go on! While searching for the right treatment, many get lost in the long list of treatment options, each focusing on different ailments. With that in mind, we’re so proud to announce our newest treatment at Skin Iowa, PC, the Lady Flower, an innovative workstation that revolutionizes aesthetic treatments, including vaginal rejuvenation and women’s wellness therapies, by leveraging multiple complementary energies – so we can treat all your vaginal concerns!

The Lady Flower consists of FormaV, VTone, and Morpheus8V, each modality with its own superpower. FormaV is registered as a therapeutic device for the treatment of sexual dysfunction or as an adjunct to Kegel exercises (tightening of the muscles of the pelvic floor to increase muscle tone) and cleared for temporary improvements in blood circulation, muscle pain relief and muscle relaxation. VTone delivers intravaginal electrical muscle stimulation
(EMS) to rehabilitate weak pelvic floor muscles treating stress, urge, and mixed urinary incontinence. Many may recognize the Morpheus8V name for its recent emergence as a revered facial laser, but in this treatment, it rejuvenates the vagina to improve sexual drive, comfort, and enjoyment and to restore a youthful appearance to a woman’s vaginal area.

While we could go on and on about all of the reasons we recommend the Lady Flower, what better way to shed a little more light on this treatment than with a real Skin Iowa patient testimonial? | Patient Testimonial From Beth S.

I was seeking treatment for my incontinence after suffering for years. I am 55 years old and have had 4 vaginal deliveries, physical therapy for pelvic floor dysfunction, a mesh sling, and a hysterectomy with bladder repair surgery at age 34. Despite this, I still needed to always wear urinary incontinence pads. The older I get the worse my symptoms become. After researching Empower RF (Lady Flower) I thought this was a good option to try.

My initial consultation involved a detailed medical history as well as a discussion of what I felt were my main concerns and what type of outcome I was hoping for. I also needed to supply my most recent gynecological exam notes. I was then instructed on what to expect during the actual procedure, how many treatments may be needed based on my symptoms/history as well as cost, post treatment expectations and how to prepare for the treatment.

My treatments were performed during 2 different sessions due to my schedule. The first session I did VTone and FormaV.  The second treatment session was Morpheus8V. During each treatment I was taken to an exam room, provided a drape and asked to undress from waste down. Prior to the start of treatment, it was explained to me exactly what to expect, how long it would take and I was asked if I had any questions. My feet were placed in stirrups with said drape covering me. I was shown the device before it was inserted and what it was supposed to do as well as what settings we would start on. After the device was inserted, it was started at the lowest setting and prior to each increase I was asked about my comfort level. I achieved maximum setting with the VTone, which was painless. The feeling was similar to external electrodes I’ve had placed during physical therapy. The second part of the treatment with the FormaV was also painless. The only thing I felt with this was a warm sensation. After both treatments concluded, I was given verbal discharge instructions and asked to urinate. I believe the VTone took approximately 20 minutes and the FormaV took about 30 minutes.

I returned a few weeks later and had the Morpheus8V treatment. I was asked to lay down and numbing cream was inserted vaginally. I did have a burning sensation and a little blood with the numbing medication. After approximately 30 minutes, I was placed in stirrups again and shown the device that would be used. The device was inserted, and the treatment began. I was expecting some pain but was pleasantly surprised that it was completely painless. After the procedure was done discharge instructions were given and again, I was asked to urinate.

A few hours after the session with VTone and FormaV I noticed a slight burning sensation. I took Tylenol and used ice that day and the following day. I had no bleeding or discharge. I actually went out the night of the procedure.

A few hours after the Morpheus8V the numbing had worn off. I began having a burning sensation again, and this time it was more intense. I would describe it as moderately uncomfortable. I again used ice and Tylenol. I needed to be at home that night with loose clothing and more consistent use of ice. The following day the burning was gone. I did have some mild spotting the day of the treatment and then again 3 days later along with some discharge and occasional itching. On day 5 after this treatment, I went without wearing a pad and had no urine leakage, which completely shocked me. I am so excited to see the results after the next treatments.
