Rosacea and Facial Flushing Treatment
Rosacea is a common disorder of facial skin that affects millions of Americans. The symptoms include: redness on the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead, small visible blood vessels on the face, bumps or pimples on the face, and watery or irritated eyes.
Facial flushing also occurs in many patients rosacea. This flushing can be worsened by cold or hot temperatures, spicy foods, alcoholic beverages, and other triggers and can be very disruptive to daily activities.
The use of pulse dye laser (PDL), is readily available to keep many of these symptoms under control. PDL is very effective for the treatment of facial redness, veins, and broken capillaries. A series of treatments closes many of the blood vessels that are visible and cause the facial flushing. As these vessels disappear and shrink back, the redness is less noticeable and the flushing can be greatly reduced. The redness and flushing may not completely clear, but will become much more manageable.
Yearly maintenance treatments are available to keep the Rosacea and flushing under control.
